The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) extends valuable assistance to eligible children aged 0-17 years, providing funding of $1,095 for preventive dental treatments. This support is renewed every 2 calendar years, generously covered by Medicare, alleviating any financial burden for families.

Who is eligible?

You don’t need to apply or register for the CDBS. If your child is eligible, you will automatically receive a letter in the post or through myGov to let you know. Eligibility is assessed annually. Your child is eligible when:

they are eligible for Medicare
they are under 18
they receive an eligible payment at least once that year, or you receive one as their parent or guardian.

What is covered?

Eligible children can access for basic dental services over 2 calendar years. The services covered include:

dental check-ups
cleaning
x-rays
fissure sealing
fillings
root canals
extractions.
